Veterans Disability Rating Calculator
A legal client who served primarily veterans disability claims across the country was interested in creating a tool that would help both the site users as well as their internal staff quickly determine the disability percentage used by the VA to determine disability benefits.
This was a complicated project on the general math side of things, and after a meeting with one of their attorneys I started building out this calculator. “VA Math” doesn’t work quite like real world math and a variety of different factors (family, areas of body injured, etc.) can influence the disability rating a veteran will receive.
The final product turned out wonderfully and is now used by the firm’s internal team members as well as the general website users. Using a quick series of buttons users are able to quickly enter their disability ratings and see how much money they are entitled to along with viewing other secondary metrics that influence their final amount (things like the bilateral factor).
The page we added the calculator too quickly became one of the most popular pages on the site, and terms related to “va disability calculator” are the most popular organic terms the site ranks for.
